Introduction
The IPMA International Young Project Manager Award recognises rising talents. It is awarded to those individuals who, despite being in the early stages of their project management careers, are already demonstrating that they can make a difference to the project management profession and the companies and clients for whom they work. The Young Project Manager Award is open to project managers aged up to 35 years at the time of entry. The criteria for evaluation are based upon the IPMA International Competence Baseline (ICB). Applications are possible until 23rd March 2007. The price winner will receive an IPMA-Sponsorship (1.500 €) to participate at the IPMA Young Crew Management Workshop 2007 in Cracow.

Submission of documents
The Young Project Manager has to fill in the following documents and send them directly to the IPMA secretariat on info@ipma.ch:

  • Application and self-evaluation of the Young Project Manager
  • Project Description of the Young Project Manager

The Project Description must be written in English and has to be sent also to the Senior Manager (supervisor) for screening purposes. The Senior Manager has to fill in the following document and send it directly to the IPMA secretariat on info@ipma.ch:

  • Evaluation by the Senior Manager of the Young Project Manager

The Project Owner / Customer of the project stated in the project description has to fill in the following document and send it directly to the IPMA secretariat on info@ipma.ch:

  • Feedback from the Project Owner / Customer

Finally, the applicant needs an acknowledgement which has to be signed by one of the members of the national project management association’s management board of by the director/administrator who send it directly to the IPMA secretariat on info@ipma.ch:

  • Acknowledgement from the national project management association

Please send the documents (as a doc or pdf file) by e-mail to info@ipma.ch AND a signed copy by fax to the IPMA Secretary (+31 33 246 0470). Remember that the feedback by the project owner / customer, the evaluation by the senior manager and the acknowledgement from the national association have to be sent directly to the IPMA secretariat, both by e-mail and by fax (see the address and number above).

An International Jury will make their decision on 23rd April. On 26th April we will inform you about the results of the jury decision.

Confidentiality
The names of all applicants will be handled with the highest confidentiality. Such information is available only to people directly involved in the scoring and processing. We therefore also ask the applicants to keep the feedback confidential until the announcement of the results at the Workshop’s gala dinner.

There will be 4 finalists invited to the Workshop. Of these finalists, we will announce the Young Project Manager Award Winner at the Workshop’s gala dinner, the 15th June 2007.
